Convenience Pay Program Details
Convenience Pay is not a line of credit. However, if you inadvertently overdraw your account, we will have the discretion to pay the overdraft, subject to the limit of your overdraft privilege and the amount of the overdraft fee.
Pursuant to USF Federal Credit Union’s (USF FCU) commitment to always provide you with the best level of service, now and in the future, if you are over 21 years of age with a valid social security number and email address on file, and your checking account has been open for at least ninety (90) days, and thereafter you meet account qualifications, you are automatically enrolled in Convenience Pay.
The following qualifications must be met:
- You have not caused USF FCU a loss
- You are not currently delinquent over 30 days in any account or loan
- You have no bankruptcy on record with USF FCU .
The following exclusions apply to account eligibility: No business, youth, organizational, or trust accounts. Must have a valid social security number on file. Ninety (90) days of dormancy will result in suspension of the Convenience Pay service to an eligible account.
This privilege for checking accounts will be limited to a maximum overdraft (negative) balance of $750. All fees and charges will be included as part of this maximum amount. It may be possible that your account will become overdrawn in excess of the overdraft privilege amount as a result of the assessment of a fee.
Convenience Pay overdraft limits can be set at either the $250, $500 or $750 tier level, and are determined in one of two ways:
- Your monthly direct deposit amount
- The average daily balance of your checking account
For example, if your monthly direct deposit amounts total $400, your Convenience Pay limit will be $250 (you have not met the $500 tier threshold). Accounts are periodically reviewed to determine if the Convenience Pay limit should be increased to the tier.
Our standard overdraft fee of $10 will be charged for each item $5.00 or less, and $29 for each item greater than $5.00 will be imposed for overdrafts created by checks, ACH debit, teller transactions, or Bill Pay transactions. You have 30 calendar days from the day the advance was made to deposit the funds to cover the negative balance to include the overdraft amount and the Convenience Pay fee(s). On the 45th day, or earlier if deemed necessary, charge off is required.
Payment by USF FCU is a discretionary courtesy and not a right of the member or an obligation of USF FCU. USF FCU in its sole and absolute discretion can cease paying overdrafts at any time without prior notice of reason or cause. Keep in mind that we also offer overdraft protection plans that may be less expensive, such as a transfer from another account or a line of credit
USF FCU will not pay overdrafts for ATM or everyday debit card transactions unless USF FCU has provided you with the notice required by 12 CFR section 1005.17(b) of Regulation E and you have opted into the payment of these overdrafts.
In the event you would like to have this service removed from your account, you may do so by calling Member Service at 877.906.9328.
